Hot days, cool streams

Day 59,      25.5 miles

There are a few things I’m loving about Nor Cal.   The tall tree forests that provide shade,  the abundance of springs and streams, and the fantastic views of Mount Shasta.

Last night was sweaty and muggy again.  More thunder and lightning with a bit of rain. It was 100 degrees Fahrenheit again today.  I guess I’m getting used to the heat.

Happy found an egg on the trail today.  We tried to guess what kind of bird it would be. What if we could help it hatch?  Happy suggested it could be our hiking pet and it would fly along the trail with us.  Tugboat wanted it to be a dragon’s egg so that it could carry her pack for her.  It made me think of bacon and eggs.  I’m hungry today.
