Day 20, 5 miles
Ok, I don’t wish to whine, so no details. I needed new shoes. Got a lift to the nearest REI. Purchased new shoes, socks, fuel canister, moleskin, and food for 110 miles.
Heading out this afternoon to hike into the San Gorgonio Wilderness. We will hike about 5 miles to camp tonight, then another 18-22 waterless miles tomorrow. My pack will be very heavy with 5 liters of water and 6 days of food, but I’m soooo excited to try my new shoes!! Altra Lone Peaks, men’s size 8 1/2.
Oh. I was going to write about my trail name. Oops. Tomorrow.

Oh yea. I wear cascadias with no problems, but really want to try the Altras. Happy Feet and Happy Hiking to you.

Yes, thx. The Altras seem to be working for me. I tried Cascadias, but the fell apart after 200 miles. I’m hard on shoes though.
